One approach gaining attention is the “less but better” wellness routine, which focuses on intentional choices rather than adding more tasks. This method aims to improve energy, sleep, and stress levels through simple adjustments.

The routine is built around four main areas: food, movement, sleep, and nervous system support. In terms of diet, the focus is on eating for steady energy. This includes meals like Greek yogurt with berries for breakfast, a loaded turkey sandwich for lunch, and sheet pan chicken with sweet potatoes for dinner. Prioritizing protein and healthy fats helps reduce the urge to snack and keeps energy levels stable throughout the day.

For exercise, the approach involves working out less but with more purpose. The weekly routine includes a daily 30-minute walk, often in the morning, plus a short walk after dinner. Strength training is done two to three times per week, using Pilates, weights, or home workouts. The goal is consistency and feeling good, not exhaustion.

Sleep is described as the foundation of health. Key habits include going to bed before 10 p.m., reading instead of watching TV at night, and keeping phones out of the bedroom. Creating a cool, dark, and quiet sleep environment is also highlighted. When sleep is consistent, energy, mood, and cravings tend to improve.

Supporting the nervous system involves simplifying life. This means saying no to commitments that do not align with priorities, reducing calendar obligations, and leaving space for rest. Letting go of outgrown habits and trusting instincts are also part of this process. The idea is that when the nervous system feels supported, other aspects of health, such as digestion and energy, also benefit.

To start a spring wellness routine, five simple habits are recommended: eating a protein-rich breakfast, taking a daily walk, strength training two to three times a week, going to bed 30 minutes earlier each night, and removing one non-essential item from the calendar. The overall message is that self-care does not need to be complex to be effective. Simple, consistent habits can lead to feeling more energized and present.
